Warren Smith may be a transplant from Chicago, but Warren Smith is right on the money when it comes to criticizing Tom Thompson and the so-called Economic Development Commission that never gets anything accomplished.

These people who killed all these people in the store and in their home and everything over in Pitt County — it’s too bad that their families have got to live with it, but those people need to go directly to the electric chair. They need to be put to death.

I very appreciate the commissioners approving some money for the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. We need them. Look what happened to Pitt County.

Will somebody please explain why our county commissioners tabled the request from Register of Deed Jennifer Leggett Whitehurst? And do you not realize that Hyde, Terrell, Washington, Pitt, all the counties that surround Beaufort County have their register of deeds online. Why was the request tabled when the money was already in her budget?

I can’t wait for the arrival of Al Sharpton to explain the recent murders of two people who grew up in Beaufort County.

I would like to see Gene Lyons back in our paper regardless of what the Republicans think of him. He’s the only voice of sanity left.

Washington Daily News is a great little local paper and it could be even greater if you would just return the nightly TV schedule for this area in there. I’d like to see it again, just the nightly schedule.
