Myron Edwin Jones Jr., 64, of 480 Lazy Lane, Engelhard, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Vidant Pungo Hospital, Belhaven.

Born April 24, 1947, he was the son of the late Myron E. Jones Sr. and Edna Lucille Sadler Jones, who survives.

Myron loved to be on the water and to shrimp, he served his country during the Vietnam War.

A celebration of his life will be held Sunday April 8, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the home place, 480 Lazy Lane, Engelhard.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Myron E. Jones III and wife Jessica of Apex and Benny R. Jones and wife Christy of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Avner W. Jones of Gull Rock and Charlie R. Jones of Fairfield; two sisters, Sue J. Harper of Bath and Cathy J. Ireland of Engelhard; 10 grandchildren and many great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson. Zachary T. Jones.
