Edward Jones

Mr. Edward Jones, 81, of 15741 N.C. Highway 94 North, Roper, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Shiloh Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Elder Daniel Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Memorial Gardens.

Jones was born May 6, 1930, in Washington County. He was the son of the late James and Mollie Hodges Jones. He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed as a logger.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Christine Jones of the home; his son, Tonie Webb of Waxhaw; two stepsons, Artis Webb of Alpharetta, Ga., and Larry Webb of Charlotte; three daughters, Bertha Bell of Plymouth, Sherlena Sykes of Chesapeake, Va., and Benita Webb of Roper; one sister, Helen Barber of Florence, S.C.; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Shiloh Church of Christ and other times at the home.

Arrangements are by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
