Students honored for artwork

Nine students from John Cotten Tayloe Elementary School received honorable-mention status in the recent Beaufort County Arts Council’s Student Art Show. Melinda Garner, JCT art teacher, submitted 24 student pieces to the art show for judging. The pieces will be displayed this month at the Washington Civic Center.

The following students were honored at a reception at the Civic Center on March 25: Claire Barnes, Barbara Carter’s second-grade class; Desean Blount, Elizabeth Bennett’s second-grade class; Tess Gillis, Karen Moore’s second grade class; Mahongani Midgette, Kim Copeland’s second-grade class; Jennifer Ramirez, Kim Copeland’s second-grade class; Hayden Anderson, Brandy Council’s third-grade class; Nat’tryal Banks, Jamie Bradsher’s third-grade class; Brandon Moore, Melissa Houston’s third-grade class; Ashley Stevenson, Betsy Hodges’s third-grade class.
