Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

I think the bicyclists in Washington this weekend were absolutely wonderful, financially and for our city, for young people to get out there and look and see what exercise, bicycling, can do. The only thing we need in this city to help these people along is we need a good steak restaurant to invite the public and tourists to our town. Where is the Committee of 100? Where are the people who can help us get some restaurants? Please listen to the people of Washington.

In the response to Sunday’s editorial “Make a Difference,” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe holds very true. “He who does nothing for others, does nothing for himself.” True satisfaction in ourselves can best be accomplished through volunteering. One can find an hour a week to give of oneself, no matter what other obligation one has. Feel good about your time on Earth. Spend time volunteering just to give.
