Mrs. Gloria J. Woolard, of 720 Boston Ave., Washington, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital, Washington.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at Temple of Jesus Christ Church. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

Gloria was born to the late Frances Simmons Wilson and Ernest Daniels. Gloria graduated from Seward Park High School, New York, N.Y. She was married to Elder Ronnie Lee Woolard Sr. who survives. She was a faithful member of the Temple of Jesus Christ Church. She was president of the United Specials Choir, past president of the Youth Department, member of the Founder’s Day Committee, Women’s Auxiliary, Women’s Fellowship, kitchen staff and the Couples’ Night Out Committee. She was employed at the Beaufort County Health Department for more than 20 years. She worked at Hamilton Beach of Washington and Singer Furniture in her early years.

She is survived by two daughters, Christi Woolard and Keisha Banks and one son, Ronnie Lee Woolard Jr. of Washington; three sisters, Sylvia Singleton, Marian Turner and Linda Weston of Washington; one aunt, Betty Moore of Washington; one uncle, Robert Blackledge of New York; one grandson, Nat’tryal Banks; a devoted and loved father- and mother-in-law, Bishop James and Mother Georgia Woolard; sisters-in-law, Wanda Harvey of Washington, Freida Parmelee of Hamilton and Janice Brown of Chocowinity; brothers-in-law, James A. Woolard, Gerald Woolard and Calvin Woolard of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances P. Wilson; stepfather, Artis Wilson; father, Ernest Daniels; brother, Jasper Parmelee; aunts, Mamie Daniels, Sadie Crandell and Louise Hansley.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at Leon Randolph Funeral Home.
