Ricky Gene Beacham Sr., 48, a resident of 1606 Taylor Road, Chocowinity, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the chapel of Paul Funeral Home and Crematory of Washington, conducted by pastor Phillip Jethro.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Ricky Gene Beacham Jr., Wyatt Allen Beacham, Franco Simpkins, Jeff Simpkins, Jeremy McHargue, John Bell and Drew Beacham.
Mr. Beacham was born in Beaufort County on June 4, 1963. He was the son of the late Andrew Franklin Beacham Sr. and Rachel Grace Jenkins Beacham. Mr. Beacham was an iron worker. He worked around the country for several companies including Watkins Construction in Tallahassee, Fla., Roberts Construction in Winterville, Butner Construction, Edwards Construction and Quality Millwrights. Mr. Beacham loved “Carolina” basketball.
On Aug. 4, 1981, Mr. Beacham married the former Elizabeth Ann Brooks, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are his children, Ricky Gene Beacham Jr. and his companion Patrice Lee of Greenville, Brooke B. McHargue and husband Jeremy of Chocowinity, Rachel Leanne Beacham and her fiancé Alex Romero of Chocowinity, Wyatt Allen Beacham of Chocowinity; grandchildren, Sierra Nichole McHargue, Jenna Lynn McHargue, Hanna Elizabeth McHargue, all of Chocowinity and Alejandra Daniella Romero of Grimesland; brothers, Andrew F. Beacham Jr. and wife Betty, Johnny Laverne Beacham and wife Beth, Troy Wayne Beacham Sr. and wife Dawn, all of Chocowinity, Joey Stancil Beacham and wife Mary of Norfolk, Va.; sisters, Angela Faye Fulmer of Montgomery, Ala., Melva Simpkins and husband George of Ayden, Rachel “Libby” Woolard and husband Randy of Chocowinity, Nancy Beacham Hill and husband Bert of Washington, Brandi Beacham Hardison and husband Michael of Vanceboro; special nephew who helped with his care, Dillon Brooks; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Beacham was preceded in death by a daughter, Danielle Leann Beacham.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory of Washington.
