Over the weekend Washington held the fifth annual Washington Triathlon, which was sponsored by Fitness Strong of Raleigh and Inside-Out Sports of Cary and hosted by the Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce. The course of the triathlon spanned from the Pamlico River to Washington Park and Downtown Historic Washington and took place on Saturday and Sunday with approximately 250 athletes participating in the event which was split into two categories: The IOS 100 and the shorter FS 50.
