Ms. Wanda Dawes Godley, 40, a resident of Bear Grass, died Sunday, May 20, 2012.

Wanda, a Martin County native, was a lifelong resident of the Bear Grass community. She attended Bear Grass School, and Rose of Sharon Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Dwight “Cat” Dawes; grandfather, William E. “Bill” Rogers; and grandmother, Gladys Dawes.

She is survived by her son, John Lynn “Little John” Asby Jr., of Pinetown; mother, Vicky Rogers, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and grandmother, Ella Faye Rogers, of Bear Grass.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville.
