Ruth Elizabeth Tetterton Linton

Ruth Elizabeth Tetterton Linton, 90, a resident of Roanoke Landing Nursing Center, Plymouth, and formerly of the Terra Ceia Community, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 26, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, officiated by Billy Ray Askew and Arnold Pressey. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Ralph Linton, James Linton, Phillip Fitchett Sr., Phillip “Boo” Fitchett Jr., Michael Fitchett, Charlie Brooks and Joseph Boyd will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Linton was born in Beaufort County on Feb. 22, 1922, daughter of the late David Allen Tetterton and the late Eva Brownie Chambers Tetterton. On Nov. 8, 1941, she married Oscar Rudolph Linton who preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1986. She was a graduate of Pantego High School, a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Terra Ceia Church of Christ where she faithfully served her church and her community.

Survivors include three sons: Ralph Sherwood Linton and wife Diane of Pantego, James Linton and wife Robin of Sunbury and Bradford Linton and wife Linda of Cross Junction, Va.; a daughter, Ravonda Fitchett and husband Phillip of Kinston; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition, Mrs. Linton is survived by three brothers: Jack Tetterton and Johnny Tetterton both of Plymouth and Tommy Tetterton of Rocky Mount. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jim Tetterton and D.C. Tetterton, and three sisters, Cora Tetterton, Doris Sawyer and Annie Mae Smith.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Mrs. Linton’s son, Ralph Sherwood Linton, located at 5400 Terra Ceia Road, Pantego.

Mrs. Linton was blessed to receive excellent care and attention from Dr. Chang Oak, who she loved dearly. The family will be eternally grateful to the staff of Roanoke Landing Nursing Center and Community Home Care and Hospice.
