Harold Lloyd “Dick” Phelps, 79, of Plymouth, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Roanoke Landing Nursing Center in Plymouth.

Born Dec. 3, 1932, in Washington County, he was the son of the late George Phelps and Reba Vail Phelps and was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Phelps and sister, Mattie P. Haislip. Dick was a retired paper machine operator with Weyerhaeuser Corporation and member of Plymouth Church of God.

His family includes his wife Dolores Easom Phelps of Plymouth; daughter Tammy P. Respass of Plymouth; sisters, Irene P. Sawyer of Plymouth and Mollie P. Whittington of Roland, S.C.; granddaughters, Lindsey Haislip and Taylor Respass.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Plymouth Church of God with the Rev. Bill Braswell, the Rev. Jerry Waters and the Rev. Wade Easom officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Plymouth Church of God.
