Melinda G. Bryson

Melinda Gail Bryson, age 56, a resident of 6000 River Road, the River Bend community of Washington, died Friday, June 1, 2012, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville.

A private graveside funeral will be held at Warren Memorial Cemetery of Blounts Creek officiated by pastor Johnny Jones.

Melinda was born in Portsmouth, Va., on June 17, 1955, daughter of Ernest Cleon Bryson and the late Frances Inez Moore Bryson. She worked in industrial construction, having worked with various companies and locations, including PotashCorp-Aurora.

Melinda is survived by a daughter, Angela Kinnion of Wilson; a son, Mitchell Eugene Thornhill Jr. of Chesapeake, Va.; her father, Ernie Bryson of Grimesland; her fiancé, Bill Barnes of Wilson; a brother, Ronnie Bryson of Blounts Creek; two sisters, Deborah Kennedy of Blounts Creek and Sena Brennan of Washington; and a granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Harrell of Wilson. Melinda’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her granddaughter Hannah.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Bob and Sena Brennan located 6000 River Road, the River Bend Community of Washington.
