To the person who was so unhappy with the Beaufort County Arts Council, how many times in your 20-plus years of art camp have you volunteered your time or sent in a financial contribution. To me, the Arts Council does an extraordinary job with limited financial resources. They heavily rely upon their generous volunteers. I have always found the staff to be most informative and very, very welcoming. Thank you.

After we try to portray the South as the New South and I tell people we’re not like the “Dukes of Hazzard” and we’re not like Andy Griffith, here you go putting a pig in a giant shopping cart on the front page. And it’s Angels n Camo shooting for wishes. Oh, Lordy, a pig in a shopping cart and guns. What redneck stereotypes you are portraying us to be?

Just spent close to $500 on prescription drugs for a relative. This is exactly half of this person’s Social Security check. Not much left, is there? Now, let me be clear, I do not blame the local drug stores or pharmacists. They are just charging you what the national pharmaceutical companies are making them charge. Why isn’t Congress investigating the prices of the drugs at pharmacies?
