Thelma B. Everett

Mrs. Thelma Boyd Everett, 87, a resident of 665 N. White Post Road, Pinetown, died Friday, June 22, 2012, at her home.

A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Dennis Davis. Burial will follow in the Everett Community Cemetery. Mrs. Everett’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Vanessa Everett Perry and Natalie Everett will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Everett was born in Beaufort County on June 15, 1925 to the late James Rufus Boyd and Edith Iowa Waters Boyd. On Oct. 3, 1946, she married Daniel Mayhew Everett, who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1980. She received her nurses-aide degree and worked as a nurse’s aide with the Beaufort County Nursing Home for 14 years. Mrs. Everett was member of Everett’s Church of Christ and a charter member of the church’s Ladies Aid. Survivors include one daughter. Argie Waters and husband Marlin of Washington; three sons, James Everett and wife Brenda, Danny Everett and wife Dale, Ernie Everett and wife Tracey, all of Pinetown; nine grandchildren, Leslie Everett, Jeffery Everett, Nathan Everett, Thomas Everett, Heath Everett, Marlin Waters Jr., Hilton Waters, Vanessa Everett Perry and Natalie Everett; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lillian B. Cox of Bath. She was preceded in death by one grandson, James Everett Jr.; two sisters, Marcie B. Baynor, Viola B. Braddy; and two brothers, Chapman Boyd and Oscar Boyd. She had two wonderful caregivers, Betty Reddick and Thelma Booth, and many others.

The family received friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
