Mrs. Lillian Paul Jefferson, 87, a resident of 2526 Yeatesville Road, the Banjo Fork area of Bath, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at her home.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven, officiated by the Rev. Medford Hopkins. Burial will follow in the Mason cemetery of Bath.
Mrs. Jefferson was born in Beaufort County on Jan. 4, 1925, daughter of the late Clarence Wiley Paul and the late Mary Hilda Bailey Paul. She was a 1941 graduate of Belhaven High School. Mrs. Jefferson was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress at Belhaven Manufacturing Co. for eight and one half years until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of Belhaven Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as secretary for 19 years and passed that responsibility over in 2005.
Mrs. Jefferson is survived by a son, Leslie Allen Jefferson and his wife Gail of Chesapeake, Va.; a daughter, Jane Jefferson Bobbitt and her husband Stan of Raleigh; a sister, Edna Cordon of Belhaven; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers, Clarence Earl Paul, Allen Arthur Paul, Stanley James Paul and John Jackson Paul and one sister, Annie P. Liverman.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
