Two local business owners got to smile for the camera recently when “North Carolina Weekend” taped segments for July episodes.

The weekly North Carolina television show featured Inner Banks Outfitters last week, and it will air a segment on the Belle of Washington this week. Clay Johnson produced both segments.

Liane Harsh, owner of IBX, covered the bikes and kayaks available for sale and rent at her East Main Street business.

The shop also has hammocks and paddleboards, but the segment focused on modes of transportation that would allow visitors to “explore Beaufort County’s backwaters and its rural scenery,” said Deborah Holt Noel, the host of the show.

Harsh was pleased with the finished product.

“I thought it was awesome. They did a good job,” Harsh said. “I’ve already had someone come and rent a kayak because of it.”

The show, which premiered Thursday and aired again on Friday and Saturday, is available online at http://video.unctv.org/program/nc-weekend/2253747441.

Harsh plans to add a link to the episode to innerbanksoutfitters.com.

The second segment is on the “Belle of Washington,” which offers cruises and special-occasion rentals on the Pamlico River.

“The segment features a sunset cocktail cruise and talks about what the Belle of Washington offers residents and visitors to Washington,” Johnson said.

“North Carolina Weekend,” featuring attractions from across the state, is partially funded by the North Carolina Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development. It airs on UNC-TV on Thursdays at 9 p.m. with rebroadcasts Fridays at 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m.
