Jordan Elizabeth Oakley and Thomas Patrick Baltes were married on June 23, 2012, at five o’clock in the afternoon at the Bath United Methodist Church in Bath, North Carolina. The Rev. William M. Creech officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father. A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Washington Yacht and Country Club in Washington, North Carolina.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Knox Oakley of Greenville, North Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Ray Oakley of Washington and Mr. Kenneth Earl Cline and the late Mrs. Martha Love Cline of Concord, North Carolina.
The groom is the son of Lieutenant Colonel (USAR Retired) and Mrs. Theodore Baltes Jr. of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Patricia Baltes and the late Major Theodore Baltes Sr. of San Jose, California, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Proctor of Fayetteville.
Mrs. Leigh Clark Snider of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Mrs. Amanda Askew Czaplijski of Wilmington, North Carolina, were matrons of honor. The bridesmaids were Ms. Lauren Gray Edmonson of Greenville, Ms. Alexis Courtney Rodgers of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Ms. Christine Nicole Trompak of Greenville.
Lieutenant Colonel (USAR Retired) Theodore Baltes Jr. served his son as best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Theodore Benjamin Baltes, brother of the groom, of Fayetteville, Mr. Michael Joseph Kratovil of Greenville, Mr. Garrett Knox Oakley, brother of the bride, of Charlotte and Mr. Cameron Parks Oakley, brother of the bride, of Charleston, South Carolina.
The Scripture reader was Mrs. Heather Lanier Eveleth of Greenville. The register attendants were Mrs. Katherine Rhys-Myrick Potts and Ms. Anna Elise Strickland, both of Greenville.  The bell ringers were Mr. Chris Eveleth, Mr. Lanier Eveleth, Miss Lilly Eveleth, Mr. Parker Eveleth and Mr. Perry Eveleth, all of Greenville.
The wedding music was provided by Mr. Andrew Scanlon, organist; Mr. Scott Mueller, guitarist and soloist, and Ms. Katie Love, violinist. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Dottie Bryant of Farmville.
Prior to the wedding, a shower was given by Ms. Lauren Edmonson and Ms. Christy Trompak at the Edmonson home in Greenville. Nancy Clark and Nancy Edmonson hosted a shower at the Edmonson home.
The wedding weekend began with a luncheon honoring Jordan and her bridesmaids and was hosted by Page Aman, Jennifer Batts, Dottie Bryant, Heather Eveleth and Phyliss Singleton at the Aman home in Greenville. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents, Lieutenant Colonel (USAR Retired) and Mrs. Theodore Baltes Jr., at the North Carolina Estuarium in Washington. After the rehearsal dinner, the bride and her bridesmaids spent a relaxing evening and next morning at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs Jeff Aldridge in Belhaven, North Carolina.
The bride is a graduate of J.H. Rose High School, East Carolina University and University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Prior to the wedding she was employed with Pitt County Schools as an Exceptional Children’s teacher at Northwest Elementary School. In the fall she will be an Exceptional Children’s teacher at Farmington Woods Elementary School in Cary, North Carolina.
The groom is a graduate of Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville and East Carolina University. He is currently employed with Enterprise Corporation in Raleigh.
Since a honeymoon to the Dominican Republic, they have made their home in Raleigh.
