Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

What’s the death announcement on the front page? That ain’t front-page news. I’m sorry the man died, but that still don’t make it front-page news. I don‘t care who he is.

I love dogs, but shouldn’t people living in a city or a town be able to live without the constant day and night barking and howling of a pack of hunting dogs that disturb the sleep of all those who live near? It seems that those who make ordinances, or who fail to make ordinances, care more for dogs than for the people who pay taxes, work and support the services. This is coming from Belhaven.

I would like to know why it is that when a child is in the presence of a school official or school employee and that child gets hurt because they were following the instructions of that school employee, why is it that the school isn’t negligent for what has happened to that child if it gets hurt?

I just want to say thanks to Walter Williams. Once again, he has hit the nail on the head.

The drainage work in Smallwood looks nice, except for the unprofessional section that hasn’t been sodded yet.
