Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

I see it doesn’t matter what Walter Jones or Marc Basnight says about a candidate. It’s what the candidate is, and it’s what the voter thinks about the candidates. So, congratulations, Mattie.

Wow, I thought I was the only mean-spirited son-of-a-gun in this town. But that Sound Off about G.W. Walker’s death, ooh, that person’s a mean-spirited person. I bow to you, sir or madam. Almost a year later since Hurricane Irene, and it’s got me thinking. They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I don’t believe that. So, I pose this question: is there anyone else out there still suffering from Hurricane Irene and is, yes, grateful to be alive, but he or she is still physically and financially and mentally devastated?
