Kevin Patton Swann, 53, of Morganton, died Thursday, July 19, 2012.  He was born September 19, 1958 in Alamance County, NC to Grace Patton Swann and the late Bill F. Swann.  Kevin was of the Presbyterian faith and attended College of Albemarle. He was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed being in the outdoors hiking with his dog “Zip”.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. W. R. Patton and paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Swann, Sr.
Kevin is survived by his sons, William Swann of Fayetteville and Scott Swann and his wife, Erin of Clarksville, TN; brother, Jeff Swann and his wife, Marie of Washington, NC; sister, Pam Swann of Port Aransas, TX; grandchildren, Emma Faye Swann and Henry Benjamin Swann; nephews, Jeffrey Swann and Kevin Swann both of Washington, NC; niece, Jodi Michelle Brown of Port Aransas, TX and a brother-in-law Doc Brown of Port Aransas, TX.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
