Lillian Vann Gaskins Gaylord Paul

Lillian Gaylord Paul, age 91, affectionately known as “Ms. Lillian” passed away peacefully at her home in Wake Forest, NC on Wednesday, August 1, 2012.  She was a lifetime resident of Beaufort County until she moved to Wake Forest to be near her daughter.
She was the daughter of the late Warren Carldon and Lillian Ecklin Gaskins. She was preceded in death by both her husbands — Benjamin Thomas Gaylord and Joseph Bonner Paul, Sr. and her brother, Warren Gaskins, Jr.
“Ms. Lillian” is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Gaylord Coordes and her husband Donald; two grandchildren, Kristy Vann Seaboch and her husband Mark, Karen Vann Rosa and her husband, Brian; five great-grandchildren, Max Guest, and  Mitchell, Haley, Ashlyn and Spencer Seaboch.  She is also survived by two cousins, Jack Sowers and his wife Sally of Arizona and Corwin Ecklin and his wife Sylvia of Chocowinity and two nieces, Cathy Martin and her husband Mark and Melinda Vann and her husband. Other survivors include Jackie Gaskins and Neel Guest and her extended family of the staff at Paul Funeral Home.
She touched many lives in her work as an insurance agent and during the 40 years she spent at Paul Funeral Home as Office Manager, cosmetologist, and hairdresser. She was a member of Hunter’s Bridge Christian Church for over 50 years where she taught Sunday School and preschool and was very active in the Ladies Aid group. After her marriage to Bonner Paul, she moved her membership to First Christian Church in Washington where she was a Circle leader in the CWF for two years and active as long as her health permitted.
Visitation will be at Paul Funeral Home on Saturday, August 4, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. followed by the funeral in the Chapel at 3:00 with Dr. Michael Price officiating, assisted by Derik Davis.  Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery on the family lot. Pallbearers will be Derik Davis, Billy Slade, David Burbage, Sr., Neel Guest, Corwin Ecklin, and Don Fann.
