Fenner J. Ross Jr.

Mr. Fenner Joyner Ross, Jr., age 82, a resident of Washington, died Friday, November 23, 2012 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Clair’s Church of Christ and will be conducted by Craig Hagan. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Matthew Boyd, Rick Godley, Thomas Burbage, Adam Burbage, Austin Wallace and Thomas Mitchell will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Ross was born in Beaufort County on March 6, 1930 to the late Fenner and Stella Cordon Ross. On February 26, 1955 he married Mary Janice O’Neal who survives. He served in the United States Army, retired as a self-employed heavy equipment operator and was a member of St. Clair’s Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Janice O. Ross, five daughters, Dorinda Godley of Bath, Cindy Shaw of Washington, Darla Burbage of Washington, Dale Nava of Grimesland and Regina Boyd of Washington, thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Smith, one brother, George Ross and one grandson, Mitchell Godley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Regina Boyd, 1716 Highland Dr., Washington, NC.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fenner J. Ross, Jr. Memorial Fund, c/o St. Clair’s Church of Christ, 9814 Hwy. 99 S., Bath, NC 27808.
