Nathan Paul Gibbs, born January 25, 1938, went home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2012, after a short illness and surrounded by his family at his home in Green Valley, AZ.
He graduated Engelhard High School in Engelhard, NC in 1956 after which he worked as a fingerprint technician at the FBI in Washington, DC. He was drafted and served with the Military Police in Garmisch, Germany. After honorable discharge, he returned to Washington, DC and worked with Allied Aviation at National and Dulles Airports until his retirement after more than 35 years’ service.
Not content to “sit around,” he opened and operated the Café in Engelhard, NC before leading the kitchen crew at the North Carolina Correctional Center in Fairfield, NC.  Beckoned by a warmer climate he moved to Lakeland, FL. He worked with the Florida Correctional Department in Lakeland, again leading the kitchen crew.
In 2008, he moved to Green Valley, AZ for a new adventure.
Paul loved his family and enjoyed attending auto shows, gardening and music, always looking to add to his impressive “vinyl” record collection.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Allie Gretchen and Leslie Lafayette Gibbs. He is survived by his wife Brenda Gibbs and daughters Kerri Beth Gibbs Raines and Jill Marie Gibbs Chittum. One brother, Victor Brent Gibbs, five grandchildren, Morgan Danielle Stephens, Jacob Dillon Chittum, Teirney Alexandra Chittum, Michael Jeremy Raines and Sydnie Paige Chittum, niece Jennifer Petrie, and nephew Joey Gibbs.
A remembrance of Paul’s life will be celebrated in Engelhard, NC mid-May 2013.
