Mrs. Marjorie Jane Padgett Ryan, age 92, passed away, surrounded by her family, Monday, December 3, 2012.
Funeral services will be private.
Mrs. Ryan was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 4, 1920, to the late Fred Padgett and Jennie Rose Padgett. She married James William Ryan at The Alamo in Texas. Jim and Marjorie were married for sixty nine years. Mrs. Ryan travelled all over the world during her husband’s thirty year career in the U.S. Air Force. She was a bookkeeper and payroll accountant for years working for various large corporations such as: Water Pik, Inc. in Colorado, Mira Flores Locks in the Panama Canal Zone and the Airline Pilot’s Association in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Ryan always took an active role in the life of the communities where she and her family lived. She had served as president of various women’s organizations, arts councils and Air Force officer wives clubs and was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Ryan was an accomplished artist who focused her gifts in the area of oil paintings.
Mrs. Ryan is survived by her loving husband, Lieutenant Colonel James William Ryan (U.S.A.F. Ret.); five children, James Ryan, Jr., Bonnie Lee and husband Randy, Master Sergeant Mike Ryan (U.S.A.F. Ret.) and wife Katie, Major Patricia Ryan (U.S.A.F. Ret.) and Timothy Ryan; eight grandchildren, James Ryan, III, Tracey Boyles, Shane Vincent, Trey Lee, Jenny Ryan, Jessica Kurtz, David Ryan and Veronica Ryan; seven great-grandchildren,  Sara Boyles, Shannon Boyles, Zane Vincent, Landel Vincent, J.D. Vincent, Paden Kurtz and Ryan Kurtz.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ryan is preceded in death by a brother, Fred Padgett.
