Patsy “Jeanne” Warren McGowan Tackett

Mrs. Patsy “Jeanne” Warren McGowan Tackett, age 79, a resident 329 Smithwick Road, Ponzer community, Belhaven, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 6, 2012, at North Creek Community Cemetery, Wheat Patch Road, Belhaven, conducted by Scott Askew.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Jason Bullock, Johnny Joe Stotesberry, Mason McGowan, Joshua McGowan, Noelle Moursy, Paul L. Tackett, Jr. and Josh Clayton.
Mrs. Tackett was born in Beaufort County on January 2, 1933. She was the daughter of the late William Frederick “Fred” Warren and Elizabeth “Lizzie” O’Neal Warren. Mrs. Tackett was a homemaker, ran an upholstery shop and did sewing in her home. Later, she owned and operated North Creek Net Shop for several years. She was a member of St. Clair’s Church of Christ and attended Mt. Olive Church of Christ.
On February 21, 1952, she married Joe McGowan, who preceded her in death, January 10, 1986.
On December 21, 2001, she married Paul Lester Tackett, who survives.
Surviving with her husband are her children, Debbie McGowan of Creswell, Lois Stotesberry and husband, Johnny of New Lake Community, Wanda Moursy and husband, Hamada of Knightdale, Mike McGowan of Engelhard, Gary McGowan and wife, Sheila of Sutton, West Virginia; grandchildren, Jason Bullock, Eve Richardson and husband, Robert, Johnny Joe Stotesberry and wife, Kristy, Mason McGowan and wife, Sara, Joshua McGowan and wife, Wilma, Noelle Moursy, Stormie Jo McGowan; great-grandchildren, J.J. Stotesberry, Jr., Elena Contreras, Miranda Lynn Stotesberry, Emma McGowan, Elizabeth McGowan; step-grandchildren, Ben Dover and Charles Dover; step-great-grandchildren, Dustin, Brandy, Courtney, Angel; brothers and sisters, Marlene McGowan and husband, Bruce of Belhaven, Judy Sparrow and husband, Glenn of Louisiana, Billy Warren and wife, Jane of Belhaven, Cathy Sawyer of Belhaven.
In addition to her parents and her first husband, Mrs. Tackett was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Warren and a sister, Mavis Warren.
The family will receive friends at the home, 329 Smithwick Road, Ponzer community, Belhaven.
