Stephen Edward Tyler

Mr. Stephen Edward Tyler, age 45, a former resident of Havelock died last week at his home near Bath. A memorial service for close family and friends is planned in Beaufort County in mid-December.
Stephen was born at Craven County Hospital in New Bern on April 15, 1967. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Coleman-Sherwood and stepfather, Patrick Sherwood of Beaufort County; his adopted sister, Elizabeth Diggins of Trabuco Canyon, CA; his uncles, Michael E. Coleman of Havelock and Gary M. Coleman of Colorado Springs, CO and their families. He is also survived by his father, Horace L. Tyler, Jr., stepmother, Rebecca of Carolina Pines and four half brothers.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Edward L. Coleman in 1994 and his grandmother, Beulah Gupton Coleman in 2011, both of Havelock; and his paternal grandparents, Horace L. Tyler and Mary Browning Tyler, also of Havelock.
Stephen’s kind heart, his readiness to help neighbors, and his landscaping skills won him friends and appreciative neighbors in Craven County’s Great Neck Point community and on Beaufort County’s North Creek. He will be sorely missed by family and friends, and especially by his cat Gizmo.
