Mrs. Paige Harris Hardy, age 69, a resident of 216 Aberdeen Drive, Washington, NC, died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at her home.
A funeral service will be held 1:30PM Sunday, December 30, 2012 at First Free Will Baptist Church of Washington officiated by Rev. Todd Parrish. Burial will be private. Lee Potter, Mike Arnold, Cleve Boyd, Wayne Oliver, Mike Moore and Allen Lewis will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Hardy was born on March 7, 1943 in Beaufort County to the late John Walter Harris and Burley Modlin Harris. She was a 1961 graduate of Bath High School and furthered her education at the Beaufort County Hospital Nursing Program graduating in 1962. On July 2, 1967, Paige Harris married Marvin Ray Hardy. Mrs. Hardy worked for 45 years as a nurse at Pamlico Internal Medicine Associates of Washington retiring in 2006. Mrs. Hardy was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and the Hope Sunday School Class.
In addition to her husband of the home, Mrs. Hardy is survived by a daughter: Renee Hardy Towns and her husband Hunter Towns and granddaughter: Madeline Sara Towns all of Raleigh, NC, two sisters: Lula Mae Jefferson of Winterville, NC and Ruby Daw of Bath, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hardy is preceded in death by two brothers: Jackie Harris and Harold Lloyd Harris and a sister: Etta Lee Ormond.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
