Jean Moseley “Granny” Barton, age 79, a resident of Washington, died Sunday morning, December 30, 2012, at her home on Minuteman Lane in Washington, N.C.
A private graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington by Mr. Ray West, Pastoral Minister and Mr. Steve Hill, Lead Minister, for First Church of Christ.
Ms. Barton was born on March 13, 1933, to the late James Jeffrey and Julia Taylor Moseley in Greenville, N.C. She was a retired bookkeeper for White Rock Bottling Company of Washington, N.C.
Ms. Barton is survived by her children, Ronald S. Taylor, Sr. of Washington, Bobby R. Taylor, Sr. and his wife, Anne of Kinston, Glenda T. Moore and her husband, Joel of Washington, John E. Hribovsek of Kinston, and Melissa D. Hribovsek of Grifton; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her beloved feline companion, Sassy. She was preceded in death by her son, Dalton J. Taylor, Jr. and grandson, Dalton Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Joel Moore, 106 Crown Drive, Washington, N.C. 27889.
