Mr. James Hamilton Banta, 82, a resident of 529 East Street, Belhaven, died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Mr. Banta was retired from the U.S. Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years.
