Daisy A. Bennett

Mrs. Daisy Ange Bennett, age 97, a resident of Chocowinity, NC, died Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Center of Washington.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Trinity Episcopal Church of Chocowinity officiated by the Reverend Sonny Browne. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Zeno Mack Wright II, Wayne Black, Richard Hodges, Austin Peterik, Cedric Black and Jesse Black.

Mrs. Bennett was born in Beaufort County on July 23, 1915, daughter of the late John Frank Ange and the late Maggie Bright Ange. She married Hubert B. Bennett on November 23, 1938, who preceded her in death on December 30, 1989. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Chocowinity where she had served as church organist and was a member of the ladies auxiliary. Her family and church family was the center of Mrs. Bennett’s life.

Survivors include a son: Zeno Wright and his wife Carolyn of Pantego; three grandchildren: Reatta Wright Black and her husband Wayne of Pantego, Tonya Wright Peterik of Pantego and Zeno Wright II and his wife Kellyn of Bath and five great-grandchildren: Austin Mathew  Peterik, Cedric Allen Black, Jesse Wayne Black, Ella Grace Peterik and Chloe Caroline Black. Mrs. Bennett was predeceased by four brothers: John J. Ange, Leslie Ange, Tom Ange and Frank Ange and seven sisters: Lena Ange Angel, Alice Ange Wright, Annie Belle Ange Furman, Pearl Ange Parkerson, Dissie Ange Potter, Martha Ange Bates and Lillie Ange Bright.

The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington. The family will also receive friends following the service at the church Parish Hall prior to the committal and other times at the home of her son, 7100 Hwy 99  N., Pantego, NC.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 332, Chocowinity, NC 27817.
