Mr. Leland E. Taylor, 83, of Greenville, died Monday, February 18, 2013.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Pinewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Terry Mosley.
Mr. Taylor was a native of Beaufort County, but lived most of his life in Greenville. He worked for FCX for 25 years and Blount Petroleum for 10 years as a petroleum salesman.
He was a charter member of Temple Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school. He had been a resident of Golden Living Center for the past 3 years.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Gladys Andrews Taylor; parents, Leon R. and Bertha P. Taylor; sisters, Gilda Bland and Shirley Waters; a grandson, Billy Allen Barber; and son-in-law, Danny Williams.
He is survived by two daughters, Marsha Williams and Deborah Barber and her husband, Billy, all of Greenville; two grandchildren, Tina Clinefelter of Stokes and Keith Bunting of Winterville; five great-grandchildren, Austin and Ashley Clinefelter and Kaitlyn Brooke, William Keith, Jr. and Caroline Hope Bunting; five sisters, Audrey Bright of Chocowinity, Leatrice Bradshaw of LaGrange, Opal Boyd of Washington, Genene Chandler of Vanceboro, Ann Woolard of Washington; and a brother, Curtis Taylor of Chocowinity.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
