Jessie Williams Respass

Mrs. Jessie Williams Respass, age 82, a resident of East Second Street, Washington, NC, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her home. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Monroe Stowe. Private burial will be held at Haw Branch Church of Christ Cemetery, Chocowinity, NC. Austin Gene Elks, Justin Merlin Elks, Kenny Pollard, David Radcliffe, Brandon Speight and Jansen Stowe will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 12:30 to 2:30 PM at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC and other times at the home.

Jessie was born in Beaufort County on August 25, 1930 daughter of the late Troy Lee and Jeanette Williams Beavers. She graduated from Chocowinity High School in 1949 and briefly worked for Carolina Telephone. Jessie was married to the late Merlin H. Williams and later to Bobby Ray Respass who both preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, lovingly caring for her triplets. Jessie was a member of Haw Branch Church Christ and a past member of the Moose Lodge.

Jessie is survived by her children, Steven Mark Williams and wife Mary Lou and Kenneth Lee Williams and wife Martha both of Summerfield, FL and Barbara Susan “Susie” Elks and husband Bobby Gene Elks of Washington; her brother, Roland Jerome Beavers and wife Estelle of Wilmar; her sister, Jeanine Radcliffe of Ocala, FL; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren..

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Bridgeman and her brother-in-law, Warren Radcliffe.
