David Horace Elliott Sr.

Mr. David Horace Elliott, Sr., 82, a resident of 1390 Creek Road, Bath, NC, passed peacefully into glory Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Vidant Beaufort Hospi- tal in Washington.
Friends and family are invited to attend graveside services which will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Elliott Family Cemetery, Creek Road, Bath, conducted by Pastor Phillip Jethro.
Mr. Elliott’s sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Elliott was born in Beaufort County on June 1, 1930. He was the son of the late George Delma Elliott, Sr. and Grace Lloyd Elliott. Mr. Elliott graduated from Bath High School. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Elliott was a member of the Bath Ruritan Club for over 50 years. He attended the Alligood Church of God.
On April 2, 1961, he married the former Betty Gur- ganus, who survives.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Gurganus Elliott of the home; daughter, Grace Elliott Whitley and her husband, Robert Whitley III and sons, Will, Lewis, and John Elliott all of Washington; daughter, Eve Elliott Parker and her husband, Rodney Parker and sons, Brett and Adam all of Birmingham, AL; daugh- ter, Robin Elliott Boyd and her husband, Dalmon Boyd, Jr. and their children, Elizabeth, Isaiah and Caroline all of Bath; son, David Horace Elliott II and wife, Amie Robinson Elliott and their children, Mary Catherine, David III, and Daniel all of Bath; sister, Ethel Elliott Hickman of Rockville, MD; brother, My- ron Elliott of Belhaven and numerous special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by a brother, G.D. Elliott, Jr. and three sis- ters, Evelyn Elliott, Marie Mason, and Christine Tarr.
The family will receive friends at the home any time prior to the service and following the service.
