Eschol “Kermitt” Ginn

Mr. Eschol “Kermitt” Ginn, age 74, a resident of Hunters Glenn, Washington, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center. A celebration of his life with military honors will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 3:30 PM in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Phillip Jethro. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Clyde Alligood, Johnny Howell, Jerry Kirkedahl, Jerry Medlin, Scott Modlin and Carl Tetterton, Jr. will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC and other times at the home.
“Kermitt” was born in Wayne County on September 1, 1938 son of the late Eschol D. and Hattie Strickland Ginn. He formerly owned an Exxon Service in Washington and later owned and operated Ginn’s Seafood for 31 years. “Kermitt” served his country in the U. S. Air Force..
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Winders Ginn; his son, Lawrance Ginn and wife Brandy; his daughter, Angela Modlin and husband Shelly all of Washington; his grandchildren, Scott Modlin, Chelsea Carney, Brittany Kirkedahl, Christina Womble, Brooke Jefferson and Ethan Ginn; and his great grandchildren, Christopher Modlin, Cassidy Modlin, Dominick Kirkedahl and Jennifer “Aubree” Kirkedahl.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Ginn Carney, on June 21, 2007; two brothers, Jack Ginn and Lemuel Ginn; and two sisters, Joyce Menshew and Hope Newcomb.
