SBC is in business

Beaufort County has an invaluable resource in Beaufort County Community College’s Small Business Center.
The organization’s sole purpose is to increase the success of local businesses. The center accomplishes this goal with one-on-one counseling and free workshops on every aspect of running a business.
So far, this has been a stellar year of useful workshops on subjects like opening a restaurant and planning taxes.
This month is no exception. Last Monday, SCORE counselors discussed how to finance a small business.
On May 14, Washington/Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce will team up with the center to offer a workshop on inexpensive and creative ways to market a small business. Guest speaker Emily Ballance will offer a fun, informative and interactive presentation. The workshop will also be a great way for business owners to network.
Later this month, the center will continue the marketing discussion with another workshop. All of the workshops are offered in room 808 of BCCC’s building 8.
The center can also provide specialized training for employees.
