Mrs. Addie Lee Wallace Hoggard, age 95, a resident of River Trace Nursing Center and a former resident of Braddy Road, Washington, NC died Friday, June 14, 2013, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday June 17, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Rupert Wallace and Tony Krantz.  Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.  Ottis Alligood, Donald Wallace, Donnie Elkins, Lane Alligood, Jerry Alligood, Homer Wallace and Glenn Bowen will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Hoggard was born In Beaufort County on January 7, 1918 daughter of the late Hardy Edward Wallace and the late Martha Elizabeth Craig Wallace.  She married J. P. Hoggard on September 25, 1954 who preceded her in death on April 16, 2005.  Mrs. Hoggard was a homemaker, a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ where she was also a member of its Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a charter member of Bunyan Volunteer Fire Department where she stayed active as long as her health permitted.
Survivors include a daughter: Charlene Hoggard Woolard of Braselton, GA; a sister Vernal Wallace Bullock of Fayetteville; a granddaughter: Christina Matthews Albea of Braselton, GA and three great grandchildren: Macon Leggett, Chloe Albea and Alexander Albea.  Mrs. Hoggard was predeceased by two sisters: Cottie Wallace and Gladys Wallace Respess and five brothers: Jessie, Edgar, Hilton, Mayo, and Ervin Wallace.
The family will receive friends Monday 10 a.m. to the funeral hour at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and at other times at the home of Mrs. Hoggard’s nephew Donald Wallace located at 131 Wallace Lane, Washington.
Flowers are welcome and appreciated and the family asks for any memorial contributions to be made to Beaver Dam Church of Christ, 5125 U.S. 264 Hwy. E., Washington, NC 27889.
