Lelia Mayo Powell

Lelia Mayo Powell, of 401 N. Main St., Robersonville, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
She was born March 7, 1919, to Lloyd H, Mayo and Nurtia Staton Mayo. She married Clifton L. Powell on Sept. 27, 1939, spending most of her life as a native of Robersonville, where she lovingly served as housewife and mother. She was a member of Gold Point Church of Christ.
She is survived by her sons, Freddie Mayo Powell of Williamston and William Dennis Powell and wife Brenda, Clifton Guy Powell and wife Ann, all of Robersonville; two grandsons, Lee Powell and wife Melissa and Jody Powell and wife Lindsay; three great-grandchildren, Aaron, Aubrey and Joel. She was preceded in death by a grandson, William Dennis Powell Jr. Also surviving are a sister, Margaret Johnson, and a brother, Lloyd Mayo Jr., both of Greenville.
Services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home, Robersonville, with Chris Minton officiating. Burial follows at Martin Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at her home at 401 N. Main St. and visitation will be at Biggs Funeral Home, Robersonville, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
