Ellen Jackson Alligood, 81, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013.
Born in Washington, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Delmer Jackson and Nelia Holmes Waters Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Alligood who died October 4, 2011. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Eastern Star and Home Extension. She enjoyed church work, especially singing in the choir.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie Land of Franklin; son, Blake Alligood and wife Wanda of Franklin; sister, Ann Jackson and husband J.T. Sheppard of Washington, NC; two brothers, C.D. Jackson of Culpepper, VA and Jessie and wife Elaine Jackson of Washington, NC; eight grandchildren, Tanya Land Durant, Tammi Land and Andrew Porter, Marcus Land, Melissa Alligood Fifield and husband Kevin, Joseph D’Ascoli, Andy Alligood and wife Holly, Jessica Alligood, Rosemarie D’Ascoli, David D’Ascoli, Angie Mercier and Tiffany Sherwood; great grandchildren, Ashley Durant, Brittney Durant, Jake Durant, Kendall Fifield and Baby Girl Land/Porter.
Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, at First Baptist Church. Rev. Robert Brown, Rev. Joe Sustarsic and Rev. Blake Arnold officiated. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family received friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the church.
Pallbearers were Marty Queen, Bruce Moore, Barry Breeden, David Sherwood, David D’Ascoli and Stephen Wright.
Memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church Choir.
