Mrs. Lettie Small Norman, 93, of 4315 N.C. Hwy 32 North, Plymouth, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital, Washington.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Hubert Judon officiating. Burial will follow in Small Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Norman was born October 23, 1919 in Bertie County. She was the daughter of the late Tommie Small and Willie Mae Jordan Small. She was a member of Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher and President of the W.I.C. Circle. She also was employed at Washington County Union School and Washington County Hospital, where she retired as custodian. Her husband, Thomas Norman, Sr. preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons: William Edward Norman, Norfolk, VA., Donald Ray Norman, Plymouth, N.C.; five daughters: Luverna Brooks, Plymouth, N.C., Doris Jean Colbert, Laurel, MD., Evelyn Deloris Mitchell, Chesapeake, VA, Cheryl Juanita Lee, Chesapeake, VA., Mable Louise James, Jamesville, N.C.; four sisters: Bertha Murphy, Plymouth, N.C., Blanche Sanders, Brooklyn, N.Y., Mable Wooten, Plymouth, N.C., Mildred Jackson, Chesapeake, V.A.; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday at Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church and other times at the home.
