Rosa M. Wiggins

Mrs. Rosa Dell Mitchell Wiggins, age 69, a resident of 2484 Gray Rd. Chocowinity, NC died Monday September 30, 2013 at her home.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday October 3, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Dr. Richard Sheriff. Burial will follow in Edwards Cemetery of Chocowinity. Britt Mitchell, Frank Killy, Kenny Beamon, Arnold Moore, John Flowers and Dan Bradley will serve as pallbearers. Edgar Mayo will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends 7 PM to 8:30 PM Wednesday October 2, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

Mrs. Wiggins was born in Beaufort County on February 2, 1944 daughter of the late Lionel Jordan Mitchell and the late Eva Lilley Mitchell. She attended Pamlico and Beaufort County Schools. Mrs. Wiggins was a homemaker who was a woman of many traits. She worked several places including helping on the family farm and managing the cafeteria at Hamilton Beach. Anything Mrs. Wiggins attempted she gave it her all. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chocowinity.

Survivors include a daughter: Angela Whealton Ramsey of Chocowinity; two sons: Timothy Wayne Whealton and his wife Teresa and Robert Earl Whealton and his wife Valerie all of Chocowinity; a sister: Carrie Harding of Blounts Creek; three brothers: Melvin Mithcell of Reelsboro, Dennis Mitchell of Vanceboro and James Mitchell of Chocowinity; twelve grandchildren: Crissie Whealton, Robbie Nobles, Jessica Gunn, Tonya Whealton, Dewayne Whealton, Justin Whealton, Codie Whealton, Ashley Whealton, Nikki Whealton, Frank Killy, Melissa Killy and Alison Killy; nine great-grandchildren: Dylan Gunn, Kaitlan Gunn, Camryn Gunn, Payne Whealton, Addison Simpkins, Paul Moore, Chase Moore, Sage Herring and Oliver Killy. Mrs. Wiggins was predeceased by a sister: Eva May Mitchell.
