BEAUFORT COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE | CONTRIBUTED CERTIFICATION: Haywood Broome and Ted Clayton, instructors at Beaufort County Community College, were recently awarded certification as Craft Instructors by the National Center for Construction Education and Research. A Craft Instructor is an individual who has successfully completed the Instructor Certification Training Program conducted by an NCCER Master Trainer. Among other qualifications, Craft Instructors must have a minimum of three years' experience as a certified teacher in a vocation or technical construction or maintenance-related training program. NCCER is a non-profit educational foundation with the goal of developing a safe and production work force. Broome is BCCC's Lead Instructor in Heavy Equipment and Transportation Technology and Construction Equipment. Clayton is Lead Instructor in BCCC's Welding Program, among other duties.
