OBIT WEATHERINGTON

Peggy Wilma Woolard Weatherington, 75, of Cowell Farm Rd. and formerly of Asbury Church Rd., Washington, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013, at her home. There will be a celebration of her life today at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service officiated by Mike Caton. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Phil Woolard, Scott Woolard, Chad Woolard, James Warren, Bryan Weatherington and Randy Moore will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 PM, prior to the service at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 E, Washington, NC and other times at the home of Terry and Lori Weatherington, 100 Williamsburg Rd., Washington, NC.

 

Peggy was born September 8, 1938 in Beaufort County daughter of the late Rufus and Mary Lilley Woolard. She graduated from Pantego High School and married Terry Wayne Weatherington, Sr. on November 7, 1956 who preceded her in death. Peggy was employed with National Spinning and retired after 39 years of service. She was an active member of Rosemary Church of Christ where she participated in the adult Sunday School Class, Ladies Aid, and Senior Saints. Peggy was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary #48.

 

Peggy is survived by her sons, Terry Wayne Weatherington, Jr. and wife Lori of Washington and Danny Lane Weatherington of Vanceboro; her brothers, James “Jimmy” Henry Woolard of Jacksonville, NC, Phillip McCoy Woolard and Donald Rufus Woolard both of Plymouth; and her grandchildren, Payton Weatherington, Ashley Douglas, Chase Douglas, Chance Weatherington, Daniel and Michele.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her grandson, Victory Lane Weatherington and her brother, Bruce Wilson Woolard.
