Mrs. Elizabeth “Claudette” Furman Kelly, age 61, a resident of 710 Foreman Lane, Belhaven, NC went to be with her Lord on Tuesday November 19, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon on Thursday November 21, 2013 at Smithton Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Burke Holland. Burial will follow in Ryder Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Kelly was born in Norfolk, VA on September 3, 1952, daughter of the late Ira Bonner Sawyer and Elizabeth Ruth Stevens Furman Sawyer. She was a 1971 graduate of  John A. Wilkinson High School. On December 6, 1984, she married Larry Rudolph Kelly who survives. Mrs. Kelly worked in production at Hamilton Beach and attended Smithton Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brothers: William Seth Sawyer and Bonner Sawyer both of Belhaven and Donald Furman of Blounts Creeks and her sister: Teresa Sawyer of Belhaven. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Nelson Furman.

The family will receive friends 11:00 AM until noon on Thursday at Smithton Baptist Church and other times at her home.
