Mrs. Ida Ward James, 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 in Vidant Medical Center. Mrs. James was born in Beaufort County. She was a member of Back Swamp Church of Christ (DOC) and a retired Educator of the Beaufort County School System. Survivors include husband, John James of Washington, DC and one son, Quintin James of Washington, DC. A visitation will be held from 1-5 pm on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Manson Mortuary, Williamston, NC and from 10-11 am on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Back Swamp Church of Christ (DOC) in Williamston, NC. The funeral will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Back Swamp Church of Christ (DOC) in Williamston, NC with Pastor Derrick L. Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Family Cemetery in Washington, NC.
