JEAN K. THOMSON

June 8, 1947 – May 3, 2014

 

Mrs. Jean Klapp Thomson, age 66, a resident of 309 East 12th Street, Washington, died Saturday May 3, 2014 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday May 6, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church of Washington officiated by Rev. Lee Kinney.  Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Thomson was born in Beaufort County on June 8, 1947 daughter of the late James Henry Monroe Klapp and the late Alma Ruth Pittman Klapp.  She was a 1965 graduate of Washington High School and married Stuart McGuire Thomson, Jr. on March 8, 1986 who survives.  Mrs. Thomson was a homemaker who had worked part time at ECU as a research technician.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Washington.

Surviving along with her husband Stuart of the home are two daughters: Tiffany Michelle Cherry Bey and her husband Dave of Kernersville and Melissa Jean Cherry Rivenbark and her husband Chris of Washington and three grandchildren: Owen Daniel Bey, Colin Lucas Rivenbark and Ryan Caiden Rivenbark.  Mrs. Thomson was predeceased by her loving pet Andi.
