BATH — Come and celebrate the arrival of the Blackbeard’s Queen Anne’s Revenge traveling exhibit to Historic Bath State Historic Site on Friday, June 13 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Visitor Center! The traveling exhibit will remain at Historic Bath Site until Saturday, July 26.

The Queen Anne’s Revenge was renowned, in the early eighteenth century, as being Blackbeard’s flagship, which he captured from the French. The ship ran aground at Topsail Inlet, now commonly known as Beaufort Inlet, and has been having her treasures unearthed in recent years and conserved at a lab in Greenville. Over the past year artifacts on loan for the traveling exhibit from the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort have been making their way around North Carolina to different historic sites, on view for all to see, learn about and enjoy!

On Friday, June 13 the history of Blackbeard and his crew will be welcomed back to Bath at a Grand Opening celebration. The festivities will begin at 10 a.m. at the Historic Bath Site Visitor Center (207 Carteret Street, Bath, NC 27808) and will include speeches and a ribbon cutting ceremony. Light snacks and beverages will be served, and visitors will be able to enter the Queen Anne’s Revenge traveling exhibit free of charge. The exhibit will be open to the public Tuesday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Saturday, July 26th.

Also on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14 the 1915 skipjack ADA MAE, the only surviving working sea vessel made in North Carolina, will be conducting their onboard classroom! The trips leave will leave from the State Dock off of Main Street in Bath, NC at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Ticket costs are $20 per adult and $10 per student age 12 and under, and may be purchased at the Crew Tent near the State Dock.
