Frederick Roland “Huck” Smith, Jr.

Frederick Roland “Huck” Smith, Jr., 93, of Plymouth died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville. Born June 6, 1921 in Washington County. “Huck” Smith was a World War II Navy veteran serving upon the battleship Texas from 1939 to 1945 in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters as an electrician with the rank of Chief Petty Officer.  Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00 am at Plymouth United Methodist Church with Reverend Karen Crutchfield officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
