Rex Kavanaugh Spring, 69, of 6390 N. C. Highway 45-North, Belhaven, died at his home on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.
Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, September 28, 1944, he was the son of the late Norma Bailey Spring. Rex was a planer equipment operator at a saw mill during his working years. His family and friends knew him to be a great gardener and fisherman and was one who truly loved his sons and grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hope Mennonite Church Cemetery. Jesse Martin will officiate.
Surviving is a special friend, Megan Krupia; two sons, Alex K. Spring and wife, Danette of Belhaven and Ricky L. Spring of Belhaven; one brother, Charles Spring of Engelhard and a uncle, Joe Spring of Engelhard; two sisters, Monica S. Shaw of Engelhard, Karen Bailey Corder of West Virginia and Alice Bailey of West Virginia; grandchildren, Christian L. Spring, Bradlyn C. Spring, Jayson D. Spring, Jaydon D. Spring, Wade K. Spring and Alexa J. Spring.
The family will receive friends at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter on Wednesday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
