EFFIE C. MCNALL

April 18, 1945 – June 27, 2014

 

Mrs. Effie Mae Cooper McNall, age 69, a resident of Pantego, NC died Friday June 27, 2014 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Monday June 30, 2014 at Plymouth Church of Christ officiated by Bob Moulden and Aaron Saufley.  Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery of Pantego.  Edward Dunbar, Trey Williams, John Sawyer, Eric Sawyer, Matthew Lincoln, Jr. and Steve Lassiter will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 6 pm to 8 pm Sunday June 29. 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

Mrs. Effie was born in Norfolk, VA on April 18, 1945 daughter of the late Carson Cecil Cooper, Sr. and the late Effie Thompson Lilley Cooper.  She was a 1964 graduate of Pantego High School.  Later she continued her education at Beaufort County Community College and the College of the Albemarle where she earned her degree in Certified Nursing Assistant.  She married Russell Gene McNall on July 5, 1997 who preceded her in death on July 17, 2013.  Mrs. Effie worked as a nursing assistant with Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville.  She was a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church of Pantego and attended Plymouth Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter: Jennifer Tuten of Pantego; a step-son: Rodney McNall of Charlotte; a sister: Shirley Taylor of Decatur, IL; a brother: Shelton Cooper of Washington; a granddaughter: Lilley Tuten of Pantego and several special nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Effie was preceded in death along with her parents by a daughter: Pam Tuten and a brother: Carson “Bud” Cooper.
