Mr. Don Carson Alligood, age 71, a resident of 822 Ross Rd., Bath, NC died Saturday June 28, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday July1, 2014 at Alligood Church of God officiated by Pastor Phillip Jethro.  Burial will follow in the Alligood Family Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Gary Respess, Milton Bennett, Johnathon Sawyer, Gerry Fornes, Jim Galloway and J.W. Woolard.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Smith and Frayley Woolard.

The family received friends 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Alligood Church of God and other times at the home.

Mr. Alligood was a 1962 graduate of Washington High School and married the former Judy Gail Sauls on September 4, 1964 who survives.  He was the owner/operator of Alligood Cabinets, a family business, where he enjoyed working along with his sons Paul and Ryan, wife Judy and former daughter-in-law Wendy Alligood. He was a member of St. Clairs Hunting Club.  As a member of Alligood Church of God, Mr. Alligood enjoyed singing in the choir.

Surviving along with his wife Judy of the home are two sons: Paul Alligood of Washington and his companion Beverly Taylor of Chocowinity and Ryan Alligood and his companion Christina Mathews and her daughter Devon all of Washington; two brothers: Colon Alligood and his wife Carol of Washington and Tony Alligood of Chevron, MS; two sisters: Christine Alligood and her husband Levin of Washington and Joyce Evans and her husband Edmond of Washington; three grandchildren: Jessica Shore and her husband Joseph, Sarah Alligood and Hannah Alligood all of Washington; a great grandchild: Hailey Alligood and many special nieces and nephews.  Mr. Alligood was predeceased by a son: Jason Lee Alligood and a brother and sister-in-law: Clarence G. and Evelyn Alligood.
